FIELDS OF APPLICATION
- Waterproofing of swimming pools, ponds, tanks and basements.
- Protection of external walls of buildings.
- Retaining walls with geotextile sheet protection.
- Tunnels, irrigation ditches and canals.
- Lift boxes. It is waterproof even under hydrostatic pressure (e.g. low water table).
- Suitable with or without fibreglass mesh.
- The single-component format allows the mixing water to be easily adjusted to the weather conditions during the application process.
HOW IS IT APPLIED?
Before applying HIDROFIX we recommend as follows:
- All contact substrates must be fully cured, resistant and solid, as well as free of dust, paint, waxes, oils and grease at all times.
Preparation and application:
- We recommend that all corners, apexes and drains be fitted with the BANDA IMPERMEABLE 120/70 or the FIX-BANDA to achieve total waterproofing of these critical points.
- The FIX-BANDA is an ultra-elastic butyl that is very easy to apply: just remove the protective papers.
- In areas with strong sunshine, wet the surface with water until saturated, removing excess water and avoiding waterlogging.
Preparing the mix:
- Mix all of the 25 kg bag with 6.0 litres of clean water. Mechanical mixing at low speed is mandatory to avoid air inclusion. The resulting mixture must be completely homogeneous.
Application
- Apply a 1st layer of HIDROFIX with a brush, fine trowel or pneumatic spray system. This layer must not be more than 2 mm thick.
- It is always advisable (although not compulsory) to apply the NET-HIDRO-80 (a 5×5 mm light fibreglass mesh) on top of this 1st layer while it is still fresh. This mesh significantly improves the tensile strength of the waterproofing.
- Let the 1st layer dry for approx. 4 hours.
- Apply a 2nd layer of HIDROFIX perpendicular to the 1st layer.
- We recommend applying at least 2 layers of 1 mm each in swimming pools or tanks that must contain water at positive pressure up to a maximum of 3 bar and/or negative pressure up to 1.5 bar. Remember: the more layers, the more protection (always apply layers with a maximum thickness of 1 mm), so for more pressure, increase the number of layers.
- Download the HIDROFIX Data Sheet to check all the technical details, to view the various possible solutions according to each need and to ensure correct, safe application.
HOW IS IT RECYCLED?
- Use cardboard and paper recycling bins to dispose of unusable and empty sacks.
- Use plastic recycling bins for unusable and empty plastic packaging.
- Mortar residues and leftover building materials must be disposed of at the appropriate green point or recycling location for your district.
