TOOLS TO USE FOR PROPER GROUTING

For the correct application of a grout, two basic guidelines must be followed:

*use a high quality grout (we recommend FIXCOLOR, EUROCOLOR FLEX, IDEAL COLOR and/or CERPOXI or PROFESSIONAL PX in the case of antacid grouts).

*use the SPECIFIC tools to make grout slurries.

Let’s see what these tools will provide us with: speed of execution, a perfect and homogeneous finish, cleanliness, protection for the tile fixer’s hands, etc.

Spiral mixer: to start a grouting job properly, it is important to mix the grout with a spiral mixer attached to an electric drill. This is the only way to ensure that all additives, including pigments, are perfectly homogenised.

FIX-ESPATULA DE GOMA DURA: this tool is used to spread the mortar over the surface to be grouted. It is advisable to move diagonally to the joints to ensure that the grout goes all the way to the bottom of the joint.

FIX-LLANA PARA LIMPIAR: with this tool we remove all traces of tile grout from the ceramic tiles without emptying the joints. With cement-based grouts, clean after 15 to 30 minutes; in the case of epoxy grouts, clean immediately after grouting.

FIX-LLANA DE ESPONJA: the excess cleaning liquid is collected with this soft sponge. The movements shall be executed diagonally to the joints so as not to empty them.

FIX-BUCKET: we must also take care of our most precious tools: our hands. With this bucket we rinse and drain all the trowels WITHOUT getting wet.

And there are also tools that perform really well when we are talking about thousands of square metres to be grouted:

RUBILIMP: rotary machine for large areas of pavement:  we can apply and clean 100% of the jointing material.

  • We use the shovel accessory to apply and push in the grouting slurry to the bottom.
  • With the circular holder we can hold the circular scotch-brite perfectly.
  • With a little water we clean as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • The only thing left to do is to collect the excess cleaning liquid with a leveller or sponge.
