FIELDS OF APPLICATION
- It can plug water leaks from pipe breakage, tanks, swimming pools and in general any structural element made of concrete.
- It is suitable for application in tunnels, galleries, wells, canals, and in general any structure where the construction material is concrete.
- It is also widely used for ultra-fast anchoring of door counter-frames.
- Ideal for ultra-fast anchoring of railings, traffic posts, bolts, light boxes, and passage of corrugated light tubes.
- Excellent for repairing window frames, doors and bolt anchors.
- Excellent for vertical and horizontal repairs, including counter-gravity.
HOW IS IT APPLIED?
Surface preparation:
- In a waterway: remove any deteriorated, unconnected, unsound or friable concrete beforehand.
- When anchoring elements: remove all traces of dust, paints, waxes, release agents and open the hole to allow the TAPA-VIAS to penetrate deeply.
- Pre-moisten highly absorbent substrates or substrates exposed to the sun in hot weather to prevent rapid loss of water from the anchoring mortar.
Preparing the mix:
- Mix EXACTLY 2.0 litres of water with 10 kg of TAPA-VIAS, or mix 400 cm3 of water with 2 kg of TAPA-VIAS. Mix quickly by HAND with a spatula and leave to stand for approx. 2 minutes. IMMEDIATELY take a small amount of TAPA-VIAS in your hand and shape it into a rounded, pointed shape.
Application:
- IMMEDIATELY insert the TAPA-VIAS into the crack in the concrete where the water is leaking and press very hard for 40 seconds until the water stops leaking out.
- Next, remove the excess, then clean and sanitise the area around the hole.
- In applications with strong sunlight, once the repair has been carried out, the surface should be protected by creating an artificial shade and/or periodically wetting the surface. This will avoid the formation of surface micro-cracks due to excessive drying speed.
- Download the TAPA-VIAS technical Data Sheet to check all the technical details and ensure correct, safe application.
HOW IS IT RECYCLED?
- Use cardboard and paper recycling bins to dispose of unusable and empty sacks.
- Use plastic recycling bins for unusable and empty plastic packaging.
- Mortar residues and leftover building materials must be disposed of at the appropriate green point or recycling location for your district.
