HOW TO RENOVATE POREXPAN SWIMMING POOLS WITH CERAMICS
Waterproofing

This type of swimming pool is supplied in expanded polystyrene blocks, which are fitted together to form the shape of the swimming pool. They are then concreted to form a stable structure. The swimming pool will have a thermally insulating “skin” inside. Sticking ceramics on top of this fragile “skin” poses a challenge.
With our FIXMAX S2 GEL solution and the NET-MORTER-110 mesh, a layer is formed on top of the expanded polystyrene, obtaining a suitable surface to receive first the waterproofing, and then the final coating.

Replacing the
liner with a
ceramic finish
Galvanised steel swimming pools are usually finished with a floating PVC liner.
The liner is not very resistant to UV rays and chemical attack by water. Its durability is estimated at around 10 years.
Once the liner has deteriorated, you can replace it or apply the definitive Fixcer solution with a ceramic finish.
